The year 2014 has witnessed so many celeb proposals and beautiful engagement rings. One of the most exciting proposals was the one made by Olivier Sarkozy to Mary-Kate Olsen. When we had the very first glimpse of ‘the ring’ on her finger, we were not sure if it is an engagement ring, though rumors were strong that she has recently got engaged. But, as the designer flaunted it continuously and as the news got confirmed, we got excited to have a deeper look at her new sparkle.
The lady’s ring is a fascinating diamond sapphire engagement ring that easily grabs the attention of the onlookers. It is a Vintage Cartier bought from a Sotheby’s jewelry auction in NYC on February 6th. The center stone is a 4 carat European cut diamond which is framed by 16 blue sapphires. The attraction of this ring is its petals which are set with single-cut diamonds.
It is interesting to know that this ring was originally owned by a Tennessee jewelry collector and before the auction took place, it was estimated that the ring would fetch an amount from $40,000 to $60,000. But, actually it was sold for $81,250. This ring now proudly sits on her ‘that’ finger.
